Scorer and bon vivant: “Bremen is a lot Kruse”

Fire-threatening scorer, sympathetic bon vivant: Max Kruse is Werder Bremen’s best footballer and also makes off the beaten track again and again headlines. He is something special in the industry.

Spit, kick, behead, hoe, mouth: It was not long before Max Kruse’s funky bubble gum show made its rounds on the internet. “We did not even believe that it worked,” commented the attacker of Werder Bremen recently the crazy training number in the “ZDF” sports studio: “Nice that it worked.”

Max Kruse is the eye-catcher at Werder Bremen. And not just since the crazy chewing gum juggling with his teammate Justin Eilers on the edge of the Werder training a few weeks ago. Reliable regularity Kruse delivers headlines on the Weser. Mostly athletic, but also again and again off the course.

In times of smoothly controlled club communication and rehearsed uniforms, Kruse is a welcome splash of color. The 29-year-old loves fast cars, likes to play poker – and makes no secret of that. Only at the beginning of the year Kruse founded his own car racing team with the name Max Kruse Racing, last summer he vacated at a poker tournament in Las Vegas from a five-figure sum.

Bremen gives Kruse special position

“Everybody has hobbies, I do not think there’s anything bad about it, I go to the poker tournament and I do not drink alcohol, I do not know which is more unprofessional,” Kruse said on his TV appearance, referring to the alleged “long leash “was addressed in Bremen.
